Merlin Lickhalter, FAIA, FACHA | President, Lickhalter & Associates LLC

With more than 35 years of experience in providing planning and design services to institutional, corporate and government clients throughout the United States and abroad, Merlin Lickhalter's work includes a wide range of healthcare and research projects for major academic medical centers, healthcare systems, universities and federal agencies, with a total value of nearly one billion dollars.

After retiring at the end of 2002 from CannonDesign, serving as the principal co-leader of their international health sciences practice, Merlin established a consulting firm providing planning and advisory services to select healthcare institutions, architectural firms and other specialized consultants.

He currently serves as a director/trustee for four non-profit organizations, including The Academy of Architecture Foundation, the United Arts Council of Collier County, the Pelican Bay Foundation, and the MIT Club of Southwest Florida.

Merlin is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, and a Founding Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Architects. His professional work has received design awards for both healthcare and biomedical research facilities. He has lectured at major universities and is listed in both Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
