Georgeann B. Burns, Assoc. AIA | President-Elect

Georgeann B. Burns, Associate AIA, is a Principal of The S/L/A/M Collaborative, Inc., in their Atlanta office where she leads the firm's healthcare practice in the Southeast . A graduate of the University of Tennessee and with an M. Arch. from the University of California at Berkley, Ms. Burns is a past President of the Academy of Architecture for Health and a past chair of the AIA's knowledge communities council. One of the founding trustees of the Foundation, she has also served as its secretary and treasurer. With a career-long focus on healthcare facilities, Ms. Burns has extensive experience in programming and planning for academic medical centers and tertiary community hospitals with specific emphasis on master planning and strategic planning.
